On Wednesday, July 13, 2016, the Planning & Zoning Commission will host a community outreach meeting for the 2016 Freedom Community Comprehensive Plan. The meeting will be held at Liberty High School from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. In order to best utilize the time available and to ensure that everyone’s interests are addressed as much as possible, the format will be as follows:
7:00 to 7:10 p.m.: Introductions and Opening Remarks;
7:10 to 7:30 p.m.: a brief presentation by Planning staff regarding the plan’s status;
7:30 to 8:15 p.m.: question and answer session;
8:15 to 9:00 p.m.: public comment session.
During the question and answer session the Planning & Zoning Commission and Planning staff will respond to questions that have been submitted prior to the meeting. Similar questions will be grouped to avoid duplicate answers. This portion of the meeting has been set up this way to ensure that pre-submitted questions are provided comprehensive responses and that maps, graphics and other supporting resources can be prepared in advance. Questions may be submitted to Department of Planning by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions can also be mailed to the Department of Planning at 225 North Center Street, Westminster, Maryland 21157. Questions must be submitted by the close of business on July 8th to be considered. Speakers wishing to address the Planning & Zoning Commission during the public comments session will be asked to sign-in before the meeting begins. Each speaker will be given a maximum of 3 minutes to speak. Questions not submitted in advance may be asked during this timeframe; however, the imposed three minute limit will include responses. This is necessary to ensure that the maximum number of citizens is provided an opportunity to comment. No speakers will be taken after 9:00 p.m.

The Edgewood Board
We just wanted to let you know that work is being done at the front entrance.
New LED lights are being put in. They will be moved in closer to the monuments so the landscaping will hide them for a better appearance.
The electrical outlets are also being moved from the back of the monuments to the front since they are no long accessible from the rear. The final problem being addressed is a short in the line which has been identified by the electrician and repaired. All the electrical work has been completed we are just waiting on the LED lights themselves. Once they arrive they will be installed quickly.
We just wanted to let you know what is happening at the entrance and thank you for your patience!

HOA board members
Dear Edgewood homeowners,
In the next couple months we will be voting again for our HOA Board. We currently have some members that have dedicated some of their time and energies to serve the community for many years. It is time we had some new volunteer to join. We currently meet every 2 months for about an hour. It really isn’t a huge amount of time. The community will be very appreciative.
We also are wanting volunteers for the Grounds Committee and Social Committee. Since our “Monster Movie Night” was very successful last fall we would like to schedule a couple more of those this year. We would need people that want to schedule/organize these types of events. The people on the Grounds Committee would need to monitor the common areas, playgrounds and entrances and recommend maintenance and improvements.
Please contact Tidewater or any Board member if you are interested. The community really needs your help.
Edgewood HOA Board
Dear Edgewood Community,
Last night after 8pm there were numerous fire and emergency vehicles coming into the neighborhood. It turns out there were 2 vehicles on fire in someone’s driveway. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The vehicles were destroyed.
As of now we are not sure of the cause. If it is pertinent to the safety or security of the neighborhood, we will update you on this. We just wanted to let you know.

It is very reassuring to see all the decorations throughout the neighborhood. I have heard numerous people outside the community comment on how pretty everything looks. I have even heard of outside groups stopping by many houses to share their thanks and appreciation. I get a warm spot in my heart coming home after a long day at work and seeing all the lights up. It is a testament to all of you that share your holiday cheer this way. I want to personally thank all of your for putting forth the effort. I know I am not the only one that feels this way.
On behalf of the Board and me I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Thanks to the Edgewood residents who donated to the Sykesville Middle School Food Bank Food Drive. My daughter McKenzie thought of the idea and we put the plan into motion. A total of 109.2 lbs of food was collected over a period of two weeks. I will be dropping off the food to Mrs. Brown at the school and who is the coordinator for the Food Bank. Thanks again to the residents.
Additionally, please note that the trash collection company will be going through the neighborhood on Friday, January 11, 2013 and Friday, January 18, 2013 for holiday tree collection. They will drive through the entire community on both days, so residents do not have to call to sign-up. They ask that all trees be out by 6 a.m. of the collection day, in the same place where residents place their trash and/or recycling cans. Trees cannot be in plastic bags.
